Cora Bos-Kroese (1967): danseres

Cora Bos-Kroese was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, whereafter she lived in South Africa, New Zealand, England and The Netherlands. She was educated at the Royal Conservatory, The Hague and the Royal Ballet School in London and trained with teachers such as Richard Gibson, Nancy Kilgour, Laura Connors, Marianne Sarstädt, Irena Milovan, Lynne Harrison, Jan Nuyts and Alphonse Poulin. Cora Bos-Kroese joined NDT II in 1986 and moved to NDT I in 1989. She has created various works for NDT workshops. In 1993 Cora received the ‘Aanmoedigingsprijs’ (Encouragement Award) by the Stichting Dansersfonds ’79. In August 2001 Cora became a member of Ballett Frankfurt in 2001. She has been working with the finest choreographs in the world among others Jiri Kylian, Hans van Manen, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin and William Forsythe.

Cora: "Door mijn werk heb ik praktisch de hele wereld gezien, ben in aanraking gekomen met verschillende culturen, waar ik heel dankbaar voor ben. Ik heb geleerd dicht bij mijn lichaam te staan en mijn fysieke kennis beperkt zich niet alleen tot de dans. Ik houdt mij ook bezig met verschillende bewegingsvormen; o.a. yoga."

Beknopt overzicht van haar 12xHolland activiteiten:

• formeren van een '12xHolland Dance Groep' en het creëeren en instuderen van een dans voor het Hirado Cultuur Festival op 3 november
• solo dans voorstelling op diverse locaties
• dansworkshops op verschillende scholen en instituten.
• workshops aan balletgroep in Hirado en Matsuura
• volgen van lessen in Nichibu (Japanese traditional dance), Shodô (Japanese calligraphy)
