Emeke: is working with the Hirado aquarel group at the "New Dutch Wall". Also, she has a second painting workshop in Shinozaki building, Hirado.
Merel and David: perform a concert at the church of Hôki.
 
Merel: has her fifth nichibu dance lesson with Kitani-sensei. Next, she has some private lessons for some singers in Hirado.
Glenn: has another rehearsal with the taiko group Gongen Taiko. Hereafter he has a shakuhachi-lesson with Kadoya-sensei.
David: is working tonight with the Wind Ago Ensemble, preparing for the musical. And like every day, he is enjoying the Japanese food with great enthusiasm.
 
Emeke: travels to Nagasaki for a live-performance and broadcasting for the KTN program "Televi Myude". Next, she performs a painting workshop at the Hikari-no Sono old people's house.
Glenn: has again his Latin Afro Percussion Workshop, outside at the 12xHolland Corner.
David: conducts a guitar lesson at the Hokubu-Kominkan.
Merel: has her third rehearsal for the children musical The Magic Pearl at the Tasuke elementary school.
  
David: has a rehearsal with the Ajisai Taishoukoto group in Hirado.
Glenn: gives a splendid performance at the Hibiki concert for a 2000 people crowd at Hirado Sports Park. He performs together with the Gongen Taiko group and the percussionist Marty Gracey (US).
Emeke: has her first painting workshop at the Shishi Shô elementary school.
David and Merel: perform another concert, this time at the church of Himosashi at the centre of Hirado island. Next, they have the first joint rehearsal with the children chorus group and the ensemble Wind Ago fir the musical "The Magic Pearl".
Glenn: has again his Latin Afro Percussion Workshop at the 12xHolland Corner.
 
Emeke: has an painting workshop at the Shishi Shô elementary school and is painting there on an outside wall.
Glenn: gives a lecture/concert with the theme "The Amazon Rainforest" at the Hirado elementary school. Hereafter, Glenn and David participate in the opening concert of the 4 day summer camp for children Waku Waku in Kamisuki-no-Sato in central Hirado. Merel enjoys the local dances. Glenn joins a workshop for pottery.
 
Merel and David: perform a demonstration concert at the Hirado elementary school. Next, David has another shamisen lesson.
Emeke: has her first day of the wall painting project at the Hirado elementary school. Together with the children she is painting one side of the outer wall of the swimming pool.
Glenn: makes an adventureous boat travel together with the children of the Waku Waku summer camp, visiting an small inhabited island.
David: performs a Lute mini-concert at the Tabira Chômin Centre. The major of Tabira - an enthusiastic Barok amateur - joins with his recorder playing.

David, Glenn and Merel: perform a ini concert at the Japan Healing Science Institute. Emeke joins them with a dance presentation.
Emeke: works on her painting, inspired by her impression of Hirado.
Glenn: has a percussion workshop at the Waku Waku summer camp in Nambu-Kominkan.
David: make simple plucked instruments using 'bento' boxes and elastics in his improvisation workshop.
 
Emeke: with about 60 participating students (all about 12 years old) Emeke finished the colourful waal painting project at the elementary school of Hirado.

Glenn: has another percussion workshop at the Waku Waku summer camp in Nambu-Kominkan. In the night he has a shakuhachi lesson with Kadoya-sensei.
Merel: has her nichibu dance lesson with Kitani-sensei. Next she has a rehearsal with chorus group Jagatara.
David: again, makes simple plucked instruments using 'bento' boxes and elastics in his improvisation workshop this time at Hokubu Kôminkan Hirado. Hereafter he performs popular children songs for a group of young children. In the evening he has another guitar class.

Merel: rehearses for the "The Magic Pearl" musical at the 12xHolland stage (12xCorner).
Emeke: presents a painting to the Major of Hirado, mr.Shirahama. It is a dynamic painting of 1 x 1.2 metres, which she made based on her impressions of her stay in Hirado.
Glenn: has his percussion workshop at the Minori kindergarten in Hirado.
 
Merel: has her last nichibu dance lesson with Kitani-sensei in the morning.
Today is the first 12xHolland Concert Day with concerts in the early and late evening for an audience of about 1500 people.
Glenn: performs with the taiko-group of Hirado and with the koto group of Machida-sensei.

David: enjoys the shamisen together with the koto group, with trumpet player Kurose-san and thet Ajisai Taishokoto ensemble.
 
Emeke: today is the end presentation of the The New Dutch Wall painting project at the former Dutch Trade House compound.
 
Also today is the second day 12xHolland Concert Day for about 1000 people. An overview of the program:
- the brass band of the Hirado elementary school.
- premiere of the children musical "The Magic Pearl" by children of the Tasuke elementary school directed by Merel.
- Glenn performs with the djembe group from Sasebo.
- the Jagatara chorus group from Hirado.
- dance performance by Merel (performing the nichibu flower dance which she has studied with Kitani-sensei during the last weeks).
- koto ensemble directed by Machida-sensei together with Merel, Glenn, David and ensemble Wind Ago.
- trio Merel, David and Machida-san (flute), at the end also with Glenn.
 
This month's last concert happens at a historical location in Nagasaki city, in a reconstructed tradehouse building at the former island Dejima, which was inhabited only by the Dutch for more than 200 years. In this concert - initiated by David's koto and shamisen teacher ms.Machida - David, Merel, Glenn en ms. Ono Kakuko (a koto player) are performing. Besides, the 12xHolland participators have a meeting with the vice-prefecture governor of Nagasaki.

Today is an open day and the participators are preparing and packing to return to Holland.
Around 15:00 the August participators of 12xHolland are departing from Hirado by boat: Merel, David, Glenn with his girlfriend Ietje and Emeke with her sons Romboud and Olaf. Many people have come to the port to say bye-bye. Today, the group will travel until Fukuoka from where they will continue to Holland tomorrow. This is the end of 12xHolland in August, which was a marvellous active and exciting month.
   
At 15:35 departs a new group of 12xHolland participators from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport to Hirado. The new participators are: Erik van Ommen (painter/bird watcher), Lucienne van der Mijle (photographer), Niek Kaptein (baker of bread & pastry) and his daughter Saskia Kaptein. They will stay in Hirado until the end of September.
