
Bas, Klaas and Stephan participate in the traditional boat-racing"Seribune-taikai" at the neighbouring island Ikitsuki.

Also today a tv-team - this time the NBC-tv - is shooting the 12xHolland activities and workshops. They have a special session with Bas recording his ghost story reading. In the afternoon Bas visits the Yûkôkan Hirado high school, where he observes some lessons and presents a presentation "Dutch Introduction". After that, he has another ikebana lesson.
  
Stephan: presents a workshop "portrait drawing" at the Hirado Chû high school. Next, he is working in his atelier.
Klaas: has a shodo lesson with Masaharu Tateishi-sensei. His Mon-project seems to be a little quiet these days.
  
Bas has an excursion day thruogh Hirado with Kida-san and the Matsuura Historical group. In the evening he presents his second dutch class. Stefan has his first shodo lesson with Riichiro Tateishi-sensei. In the evening he gives a lecture of "The Dutch seen by the Japanese" in the Matsura museum with slides of Shiba Kôkan and others. Klaas has started the the more refined sawing and mantage work on his Mon-object. Kinoshita-san and many others visit him frequently during his work.

It is another hot and beautiful day! Also today, Stefan is working at a portrait in his atelier. Klaas is most busy with his Mon-objec. Bas is to Imari for Taiko lesson.

Bas participates an evening event of Kameoka Children's group and tells some ghost stories at night under Hirado bridge. Klaas does his first slide presentation at Harber Park (Kôryû Hiroba) 12xHolland corner.
 
There is a meeting with hosts of August participators, discussing about activity program.
Bas: visiting Minori Nursery School, telling Dutch stories and lunch together.
Stephan:His shodo teacher Mr. Tateishi visits him to learn portrait painting.

NBC TV braodcast a special program about 12xHolland (17:30-18:00). Sun Kitagawa Bakery in Hirado announces intensively in his shop about the visit of Niek Kaptein in September.
Bas: visiting and homestay in the house of old fisherman, Mr. Hisayuki Satozaki in Haifuku-cho, very south of Hirado island.
  
Stephan: He brings his portrait works to shops where the models own. Mr.Terayama of Terayama Book shop, Mr. Koteda of Restaurant Bay-leaf, Mr. Hayashi of Hirado-Kadan flower shop, Mr. Nishiguchi of Mens mode shop Marunishi, Mr. Eda of Eda Watch shop, Mr. Matsumoto of Asahi-ya clothes shop, Mr. Kitagawa of Sun Kitagawa Bakery. Today he paints Mrs. Yuko Hayashi of Hirado Kadan flower shop.

We get a heavy rain shower first time after arriving in Japan.
 
Stephan: The Mayor of Hirado, Mr. Shirahama visits Stephan's atelier and be a model of his painting. There are some people from the Miyancho shopping-street gathered and it was an enjoyable one hour with some conversations.In the evening he gives his first drawing lessen at his atelier.There are 6 adults and 8 children participated.

Klaas: visits Kawachi fisher's village and construct an optimist dinghy with a group of children. This boat will be used in the Open Yacht Race on 29th & 30th July. With Mr. Kinoshita carpenter, Mr. Machida billboard maker, blacksmith of Hirado discuss about the construction of "Mon".
 
Klaas: construction of "Mon" object is nearly ready. Visits Kawachi fisher's village and construct an optimist dinghy with a group of children. This boat will be used in the Open Yacht Race on 29th & 30th July.

Sephan: shodo lessen in the morning.In the evening he gives his second drawing lessen at his atelier. Today, learing to use color paintings.
Bas: gives Dutch useful conversation lessens to the hosts of August.
Klaas: decides the position of "Mon" construction with Hirado Marine Department.It will be in front of Carillon. Working with steal construction.
    
Sephan: in the afternoon, continies with the portrait painting lessen. Today, drawing two big flags (1mx5m) together with participators. Stephan makes his own stone seal-stamp "Tensen" with the instruction of shodo teacher Mr. Riichiro Tateishi.
Bas: "Dutch Introduction" with some songs and animals cries in Yûsei-en (mental handy-capped institute).
Mr. Yamashita of Radio Japan comes for interviews. He stays untill 30th July.
Klaas: Working with steal construction of "Mon". Digging two holes for the fundation.

Klaas: Rising the "Mon" object with carpenters, Mr. Kinoshita, Mr. Mori. Covering the fundation with cement.
Stephan: Cleaning his atelier.
Bas: Meeting with children in Ikitsuki Island, giving Dutch lessens.
  
Klaas: visiting Yûsei-en (mental handicapped people's Institute) and constructing together three miniature boats. Finishing the fundation of the "Mon".
Bas: Giving Dutch lessen for Jagatara Chorus group (hosts of Merel).
NBC TV progtram "Kensei-Chokkou-bin" introduced 12xHolland for 15 minutes.
Stephan: leaving Hirado ceremony.Typhoon is coming, so departure with boat is cancelled. They stay one night in Fukuoka and depart tomorrow morning via Osaka to Amsterdam. Mr Hayashi (thier host) escotes them to Fukuoka.

Bas: Presentation of Hirado-ben in Matsura historical museum, in form of conversation, grammer and pronounciation. There are about 15 listners.
Bas: has another Ikebana lesson with ms.Kusuhara. In the mean time, the next group of 12xHolland participators are leaving Holland for Hirado.
